The girls golf team competed in the Sectionals Golf Tournament last Wednesday, September 28th at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Hubbard.
Poland took second by two strokes to Columbiana and qualified for the District Tournament which will be Tuesday, October 4th.
The top scorers on the team who helped them to advance were Jenna Jacobson shooting a 86, Gina Ungaro 92, Marlie McConell 99, Elena Cammack 103 and Carly Ungaro 103.
The District Tournament will be held at Hills and Dales Golf Course in Canton, Ohio. There they will hopefully qualify for the state golf tournament the upcoming week in Columbus, Ohio. To do this, they will have to place in the top three.
With the way they have been playing this year, Coach Joe Colella thinks that if they all play to their potential, they will have a good shot at making the trip down to Columbus.
