Freshmen, where do you see yourselves in four years?
It will be senior year and many things are destined to change, or maybe not. I, Carmela Guzman, interviewed freshmen Destiny Flores, Brooke Bailey, Destanne Warren, and Sydney Bulick. I asked them a series of questions regarding where they see themselves their senior year.
The first question I asked was where they see themselves overall their senior year; each student seemed positive they would remain in Poland, other than one.
“I tend to move a lot, so I’m not sure if I’ll be at Poland senior year,” Destiny Flores states.
When I asked if the students were involved in sports and clubs, I was pleased to learn that they are very involved in our school and our community. Many of the girls are on the volleyball team, and one on the softball team. Some choose to take it seriously, others for fun.
“I’d hope to be captain of the volleyball team my senior year,” said by Sydney Bulick
On the other hand, Destanne Warren explained that she enjoyed participating in her sports and clubs for fun rather than taking on a head role.
In terms of clubs, one of the students had told me they looked forward to joining Spanish Club and Speech and Debate, and hopefully holding a big position in either at some point.
Even though college seems like a lifetime away, I asked the girls if they thought of a specific college and major yet, and I received a variety of answers. The colleges ranged from as close as YSU to ¨somewhere tropical” said Destanne Warren.
Destiny Flores would like to attend YSU for psychology, Brooke Bailey at OU or OSU for business, Destanne Warren at OSU or somewhere tropical also for business, and lastly, Sydney Bulick is unsure of where she would like to go for college but she would like to major in science.
Lastly, I asked each of the girls who their role model is and why they would consider them that. All answered their mothers for similar reasons, and one answered her sister as well.
When asked who her role model(s) was, Brooke Bailey replied, “I would say my mom and my sister because they’ve helped me through everything and taught me good leadership qualities.”
I am so glad, I was able to interview these students, and it is apparent that all of them are on the right track and have a bright future ahead of them. Poland Seminarian looks forward to seeing you girls three years from now!
