As the rankings for fall sports start flowing in, the people are starting to see what players truly dominated the conference. Not that long ago, the tennis standings were published to the community and places from all around; the one that took over the conference’s standings was Poland’s tennis player, Lucienne Hopps. Hopps said that she is beyond excited to receive this great reward.
“It feels really good knowing all the work I’ve put in is noticed, and I’m really proud of myself,” says Hopps.
She says that this reward did not come with ease. The path she took was worthy of the reward of getting up early and practicing late nights to work for something like this; the dedication did pay off after going 8-0 playing in the conference, and 16-1 overall. Every match, she had to work to defeat her competition in the end.
“It’s never easy, there’s been a lot of hard matches this season, but overall, I think my training all year has led me to this success. Although it’s the off-season, I never stop playing tennis. Off-season is definitely when I work the most,” states Hopps.
Even though she won the conference with this impeccable record, she can not take all the credit. She had the support of no other, whether it was from her coaches, parents, or even her friends. They were there for it all. Together, she felt like they took on the competition.
“I definitely can’t take all the credit because my coaches and parents have been my biggest support. I love playing with the YSU team, and with my friends and coaches,“ states Hopps.
Though this season has come to an end, she is not stopping there. She will continue her hard work and dedication in the off-season, as she does not see her path ending anytime soon with her hopes of playing at the collegiate level.
“I plan on continuing to play, and hopefully doing as good as I have been for the past couple years. If things continue to go well for me playing, I could see myself playing in college,’’ said Hopps.
To wrap everything up, one could say that it’s safe to conclude Lucienne Hopps is a player to look for in the coming season.
