Going into this week, the Lady Bulldogs prepped to take out the South Range Raiders; the girls ran a scout team these past couple days to prepare. Into the late-night Monday game, the whistle blew, and the girls’ team started off rough with the Raiders taking a seemingly promising lead. Looking at the first quarter’s outcome, it was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, but Coach Blanch took the girls in and gave them the inspirational words to get them all going; he, with a very successful career and an outstanding win-to-lose record, knew what needed to be done.
Going into the second quarter and then on, the girls then looked like a new team. Elliana Thompson was a dagger that night with the ball in her hands finding the net constantly.
As the clock kept running into the fourth quarter, the game became tense with no clear winner.
Coach Blanch’s team was trained for these moments with no thought of giving up, and battling until the end.
In the end, with the final rebound by Sophia Generalovich to secure the game for Poland, the final score was 48-42 Lady Bulldogs.
This now puts them in a great position to win the conference; so, stay tuned to see what Coach Blanch and his fierce Girls’ team can do.
