For the past three years, The Spanish and Italian Clubs have hosted a club appreciation event called “Tacos and Tiramisu” for grades 7-12.
Mrs. DiTommaso (Italian Club), Mrs. Mitch (Spanish Club), and Ms. Latronica (Spanish Club) each organize this event about 3 weeks in advance. Planning consists of getting a feel for the amount of people, paying for each person that signed up, ordering from El Vallarta, and purchasing the tiramisu.
This year’s event was held on Tuesday, February 13th in the cafeteria. The event was free due to the money the clubs have earned by selling candy grams and t-shirts. There was a great show out this year of roughly 130 students. Each student was enthralled with the ethnic delights that were served to them.
Each teacher felt their work wasn’t done even after planning the entire event. The event was very much of a celebration of the hard work from each of the clubs; all of the members look forward to the end of the year get together with much anticipation, and this year surely did not disappoint.
