On March 6, the Bulldogs took a road trip to Akron North High School with one goal: to advance to the playoffs. This game came right after the boys took over Canton South and then moved on to CVCA.
The first whistle blew to start the game, with CVCA looking strong right off the bat against the Bulldogs. The high-stamina CVCA kept a full court press, which kept the Bulldogs scoring only three points in the first quarter. Starting on to the second quarter, the Bulldogs still were unable to find the rim, as no shots were hitting. Though the Bulldogs’ defense kept great pressure, that pressure was not good enough to where the other team could not miss the net.
After halftime, the Bulldogs looked like a completely different team; the shots started falling, with the thought of giving up never crossing their mind, and the defense stepped up their game holding CVCA to less than 14 points. With the last court on the clock, the team went back and forth, making it an ever-closer game. In the end, CVCA would finish scoring more points, ending the Bulldogs’ season early.
Though the Bulldogs’ season was cut short, they still had an amazing season. They kept each and every game interesting, and a big shout out to the seniors. We wish the best luck to the team next year.
