As the swim team heads further into their season, they are extremely excited as both the girls and the boys win the NE8 Championship meet. This is a strong achievement for the swimmers after how hard they have been working during the season for their team. The team had a lot of fun at NE8’s and nothing made their days better than having the satisfaction of knowing that their hard work paid off for them to win.
The NE8 meet means a lot to the team and winning adds a different level of spirit to the team and allows the team to bond over the special moment.
When being asked what winning the NE8 meet meant to some of the team, Sophomore, Aaron Vandervort explains, “Winning our conference is one of the best honors to our team and our program. For me, it is meaningful to compete and to win for our school, and be a part of a championship team, and it is also meaningful to win with the people on the team I am a part of. To me, it means that even though I may not have done my best, my placements were there to show me that I am still helpful towards the team.”
While the boys are excited about winning NE8’s, the girls are thrilled that they finally could win after years of being beaten by other schools.
Sophomore, Jocelyne Salaty claims, “My favorite thing about this NE8’s season was taking the win and creating a lot of new memories with my team.”
The NE8 meet was not only about winning, but it was also about bonding with the team and creating memories.
The swim team had a lot of fun at the NE8’s meet and they bonded over the win they received at this meet which got the team closer for the upcoming meets and next year’s season. The swim team cannot wait to see what else they can succeed at in the future and they know good things are coming.
