The Spring Sports season is finally here. Sports including lacrosse, baseball, softball, track, and tennis are now in full swing. Games have also just begun as well. But something special happened in Poland Baseball’s first varsity game.
Senior pitcher, Tyson Tarajack struck out 17 of Hubbard’s batters. This amazing accomplishment broke the school’s previous record.
Tyson along with his brother Tucker transferred to Poland from South Range, this year.
This is what Tyson Tarajack had to say about his move.
Tarajack said, “The change has been good as I have felt very welcomed and have been given new opportunities.”
Tarajack brought a new level of talent to the baseball team, which was needed for them.
The Bulldogs now have a great chance on making it further in the playoffs this year now than ever.
“My expectations are very high for the team the year just like the rest of the community, and I believe our upperclassmen can lead the team as far as possible,” said Tarajack.
Tarajack was the second individual athlete at Poland this year to break a long standing record.
Tyson is going to keep his head up and keep good thoughts to continue his performance.
“I expect to improve throughout the season by staying to myself and keeping composed. I will continue to work hard in and out of practice,” said Tarajack.
We wish the baseball team a great season from now on. We also wish the rest of the Poland Spring athletes a great season. Maybe more records from Tyson and others will be on the way!
