The Seminarian Staff collaborated to ask students their best tips for final exams. Read their responses below! Good luck on final exams, Bulldogs!
- Junior Katie Allen said, “To prepare for finals, I often go out with friends to study. It can get boring to study on your own, and I tend to stay on task more when I have people around me who are also studying. One tip I have is do not wait until the last minute. Finals can be a stressful time and trying to cram for everything the night before is not a good idea.”
- Junior Lauren Cordek said, “For the first tip, I like to have one study guide/cheat sheet for each class,, so I’m organized and not shuffling through old work. For the second tip, a week in advance, I like to go to Panera and Starbucks one day to fill out the study guides and another day to review them.”
- Junior Nina Kalouris said, She advised, “I prefer to not cram study in but take breaks and study in chucks. I learn better that way. When studying I go day by day, so whatever tests I have the first day, I focus on them; when I’m done with those, I move on to day 2.”
- Junior Alayna Dutton said, “I try to get a head start on learning, so right when I get the information for the final, I study for 10 minutes each day, so I don’t cram. Also, I enjoy studying at Panera or Starbucks somewhere peaceful and nice that isn’t my own household; it helps me focus better.”
- Junior Stefan Milosevic said, “Making study guides and looking over tests that were given back. Also making notes cards.”
- Junior Pano Xipolitas said, “Ask many questions to teachers and go over all the material I can before the finals come.”
- Junior Liam Corey said, “Get good sleep, and go to bed early.” “When you wake up eat a good breakfast, and be ready for your finals.”
- Junior Lucas Knez said, “Start studying early before the tests. Practice problems are key as well. If you are in English, read and analyze the texts before tests. Good luck to everybody!”
- Sophomore Olivia Noble said, “Use cheat sheets to your advantage. Study any and all review topics the teachers give you.”
- Sophomore Lily Gentile said, “Use all the space on your note card or paper that you can, actually study and do not just glance over your reviews, sit and work on different problems and redo them until you get them correct.”
- Freshman Lailah Hobbs said, “I use all the resources provided by my teachers. I try not to procrastinate, and study the material needed to know ahead of time.”
- Freshman Brooke Halliquist said, “I like to use my online resources, such as Quizlets. Studying with friends helps a ton also.”
- Freshman Cadence Berendt said, “I use online resources such as Quizlet as well as online videos.”
- Freshman Ella Izenour said, “I study the documents that were given to me by my teachers and use these to create new study guides, as well as flashcards.”
