The Boys Golf Team has been making a statement this season winning multiple matches and tournaments against some really talented teams. The Boys have recently won the NE8 Championship at Squaw Creek Golf Course on 9/10/2025. The boys finished in first place ending the tournament with a team score of 329 bringing home the title for the Dogs.
Led by head coach Chris Martin and Assistant Coach Jason McQuown, the team line up included Angelo Rinaldi, Matthew Morrone, Ryan Lombardo, AJ Battaglia, Parker Ogden, and Zachary Ohlin.
Before the tournament the boys had a practice round at Squaw Creek practicing for the NE8 Championship.
Matthew Morrone states, “I do think a practice round helped get a feel for the shape and green speed helping me get it under control.”
The boys also had some mental challenges during this tournament.
Matthew Morrone states, “My mental adjustment was first of understanding the conditions, and my teammate Zach Ohlin walked with me and got me out of a funk I was in.”
The boys overcame these challenges as a team which helped them seal the win.
This year, the team has done a very good job at showing up and defeating many teams that they faced which included breaking a school record as a team at the Brookfield Invitational, playing at Yankee Run Golf Course earlier in the season.
Moving towards the end of the season, the boys golf team plans to move forward to win the state championship to end the year.
