Athlete Of The Month- Ft. Pano Xipolitas
September means the start of school, yet it also means football. Every Friday night, our Bulldogs hit the field under the bright lights to give it their all.
But one of those dogs is making a name for himself. That dog is Pano Xipolitas.
Pano is a Senior and has been playing high school football for all four years. Pano is Septembers Athlete of the Month.
The Bulldogs are currently 5-1, with their sole loss coming to rival Canfield. The Bulldogs have tough match-up against Girard in the weeks to come.
Pano’s goal for the team is, “Expectations for rest of the season is to win the NE8 conference and make another deep run in the playoffs.”
These expectations are definitely possible, but it will be tough. Girard is currently undefeated and hungry for more wins.
Pano shared what he does in preparation for these tough games. He said, “Full focus and effort during practices along with eating well and making sure I get enough sleep.”
With those techniques, Pano became unstoppable.
Xipolitas also had some advice for younger players, so they could potentially play at his level. His advice to younger players was, “Do not take the game of Football for granted. There are kids out there that would do anything to play football but sadly cannot. Go 100% and have fun while you play this great game.”
When questioned if Xipolitas was going to play in college his response was, “I have the opportunity to but do not know what I am gonna do.”
We wish Pano and the Bulldogs luck in the rest of their tough games. We also wish Pano a bright future if he wishes to pursue football in the future. With that GO DOGS!!
