The season began in October and every Saturday since the speech and debate team has been putting all they have into their competitions to try and prepare for the next few tournaments.

February 4th was a great day for the Poland Speech and Debate Team. The team went to compete at the district tournament, which was at Canfield High School, to try and qualify for the OHSSL State Tournament. Eight of the team members qualified for the state tournament.

In Public Forum debate the teams of Noah Lee and Zander Carbon and Dylan Gordon and Vincent Davila Jr qualified to the state tournament. In Lincoln-Douglas debate senior Nadine Jones qualified. Also, Meredith Lea qualified in congressional debate.

In speech senior Yiannoula Katsidis qualified in declamation, Merina Mediate and Jacob Duran qualified in humorous interpretation with freshmen Corrie Kramer as the first alternate.

Now the whole team is practicing for the state tournament on March 5th at Olmsted Falls High School. On February 17th and 18th, the team is competing to try to qualify for the national tournament in Birmingham, Alabama.

From everyone at The Seminarian we would like to wish all of our Bulldogs best of luck at their state tournament and for the remainder of the season.
