Poland Middle School PTO Fundraiser

Poland Middle School PTO Fundraiser

The Middle School PTO conducts fundraisers throughout the school year to be able to fund activities they plan for the students and the teachers. One of these fundraisers includes an Adult Trivia Night. It was posted on Facebook and throughout parents in the community to spread the word and grab the attention of more community members to register before the deadline. It will be on Saturday, March 25 at 7 PM.

We interviewed Stephanie Saville, a member of the PTO and head of this event. By asking some questions, we were able to gain perspective of how hard the PTO works and how planning these types of events are decided, evaluated, and created. This specific event is only for adult teams for 6-8 people, and includes 8 various rounds of questions. Dinner will be provided at this event, and they have also advertised a BYOB! (no liquor). As an incentive and fun aspect to this night the winning table will receive $500 cash, and the best themed table will also receive an award.

  1. Has this been yearly for the PTO?
  •  “This is only the second year that this has taken place; however, we do plan to host this event yearly to fund the activities that the middle school funds throughout the year. Examples are Fun Day, Family Nights, Camp Fitch,  [and] Teacher Appreciation [etc.]”

2. How can more people get involved without kids in the schools?

  • “Anyone is welcome to attend this event, with or without children in the schools, even from outside of Poland. Fun night for all adults, date night, girls night out etc.  With that, you get to support the children and teachers in the community along with the surrounding communities. Local businesses can choose to donate goods or services to get sponsored. Our hope is this event becomes an event that the community looks forward to enjoying with friends and family.”

3. Will there be any other fundraisers set up for this year for the community to participate in?

  • “There are no other fundraisers set up to occur this school year. McKinley Elementary School will host the Holiday Shoppe in November.”

All in all, this is a great fundraising event, and it will be good for the community to help and to show support for the PTO and the events that they provide for the school.
