About Last Night…
World Series 1st game. Indians vs. Cubs
The World Series is officially underway as of yesterday, when the Cleveland Indians took game 1 of the series by defeating the Chicago Cubs. Corey Kluber started the game out strong striking out 8 of the first 9 batters. Kluber set a world series record by striking out the first 8 of 9 batters. Then in the bottom of the 1st with two out Francisco Lindor got the ball rolling. He got a single up the middle. Then he took off stealing 2nd base to get himself in scoring position. After that Napoli walked, The Carlos Santana drew a walk, Then there was bases loaded for Jose Ramirez he hit an infield single to get the tribe on the board. Next batter was Brandon Guyer he led the league in Hit by pitches, Guess all that practice paid off as he took another one for the team, by getting beamed by the pitch for another run to score and the tribe was up 2-0 at the end of the 1st and they never looked back from there. Then in the bottom of the 4th Roberto Perez hit a line drive home run to left field to put the Indians up 3-0.
From there on the game was pretty quiet until the bottom of the 8th when Perez hit a moon shot to the left field bleachers 409 ft. That then put the Indians up 6-0 then Allen came in and shut the door on the cubs in the bottom of the 9th then the Indians won the game and took a 1-0 series lead.
