Poland Girls Lacrosse 2021 season

The PSHS Girls Lacrosse is very excited to participate in their 2021 season after Covid-19 interrupted their 2020 season. The girls spent January conditioning and began regular practices in February of this year. This program has grown exponentially over the years, and this year has 44 girls between varsity and junior varsity. The girls team is coached by Head Coach Ms. Nichole Blaze and Assistant Coach Miss Lindsey Ignazio.

As with other sports returning from almost an entire year off, the lacrosse girls have worked extra hard to make up for lost time. At practice, the girls work hard with their coach and are trying to make the best of the season, especially seniors as this is their last season. With such a large team comes a large number of seniors, and this year, there are 13 seniors. The four senior captains are: Addison Kaschack, Amanda Reevely, Ellie Kempers, and Emillie Franco.

The varsity team has played 7 games so far with their best game being on 4/15 vs St Vincent St Mary where the girls won 12-5. During that game, Addison Kaschack scored 4 goals; Emillie Franco scored 2; Zoe Simon scored 2; Camryn Olson scored 2; Riley Norris scored 1, and Hannah Masucci scored 1. In the midfield, Addison Kaschak dominated by winning 12 out of the 19 draws vs St Vincent St Mary. The team also got 20 ground balls.

There were 6 interceptions total. Most impressively, Kylee Hissner, the goalie, had a 76% save average which is excellent.

The Junior varsity girls also had an amazing game and won against the Junior Varsity St Vincent St Mary Team 10-5. Of the ten goals made. There were 17 ground balls won. 3 interceptions were also made.

Overall, the Lady Lax Dogs are having a great season. The girls have a decent amount of games ahead, and if you are interested in attending, there is a game schedule on Max Preps, but seating is limited and first come first serve.
