On the October 8, the Poland Bulldogs took on the Lakeview Bulldogs, “The Battle Of The Bulldogs” as Superintendent Craig Hockenberry said, but it was not much of a battle. I had the pleasure to speak to Head Coach Tom Pavlansky before the , and I questioned what this game meant to him.

Pavlanksy said, “It’s another opportunity to be better. It is a chance for us to get to 5-3; it’s a chance for us to even up our record at home, but then again, it’s an opportunity to play the game, and we can’t miss our opportunity to get better”

The PSHS Bulldogs had come out firing and started the game with a pick-six from Sophomore Cole Fulton, a defensive touchdown; the Bulldogs defense went on to stop Lakeview from scoring.

The Bulldogs offense certainly showed up. The Bulldogs amassed a total of 40 points the entire game defeating Lakeview. This offense, running like a well oiled machine, is at the helm of Senior Jack Fulton who keeps dazzling the fans as the season continues.

At the end of the game, the Bulldogs defense still showed up with Junior, Dennis McCully; Junior, Drake Trolio; and Senior, Micheal Peretti held Lakeview at their own goal line for a safety, a cherry on top of the victory sundae.

After the game, I was able to talk to Head Coach Tom Pavlansky. I asked how it felt to beat his old team and if it was an emotional ride.

Coach Pavlansky said, “I’m a [Poland] Bulldog now. The Bulldogs needed this win. They are in win-now mode.”

I was also able to speak with Senior Christian Colosimo. I asked how a win as big as this means to the team.

Colosimo said, “It means we’re excited; the team is ready to get better, and we’re rolling, and we want to keep that going.”

The Bulldogs are closing in on the playoffs, and they are truly rolling and getting better every week.
