The Lady Bulldogs have started out their season very strong with a record of 5-1. In each of these wins, they have completely dominated and won by a margin of 15 points or more each time. Their biggest wins came against Badger and East. They have also defeated NE8 rivals Hubbard and Struthers to vault them into third in the conference rankings where only a game separates the top three.
When I spoke with players about this success, they all mentioned the teams boosted morale.
Sophomore, Aurelia Cook, stated, “Our work ethic and skill has increased immensely because our whole team is an encouraging group of girls who want to succeed as a team and see each other grow.”
Freshmen, Brielle Rowe, told us that the “…team has already had great energy and awesome support. I think this is going to make a big difference when it comes to winning games and persevering through challenges.”
In their most recent win, the girls beat the Struthers Wildcats 65-35. Rowe was the high scorer with a whopping 23 points, and her freshman counterpart Brooklyn Kosco backed this up with 15 points of her own. Upperclassmen, Leanna Boccieri and Izzy Greco also chipped in with six points each to secure the victory.
Overall, the girls have a very promising season ahead of them, and a bright future with many brilliant athletes.
Make sure to go out and support our Lady Bulldogs at their next game! Good luck, girls!
