#2 Ohio State at #8 Wisconsin, Saturday Oct 15, 8 PM
This match-up is huge not only for national rankings and playoff hopes for both but for the whole Big Ten. This could make things very interesting in the Big Ten. Ohio State is coming off a win against a good Indiana team, while Wisconsin is coming off a bye week. I think that the Badgers are going to be in good shape because of the week off, but I don’t think it will be enough to beat the Buckeyes. Wisconsin puts up a great effort and a great fight due to a solid defense and a hostile home crowd, but ultimately, Ohio State will be too powerful. JT Barrett and the Buckeye offense will grab the win on the road but by a smaller margin than expected.
Prediction: Ohio State 24, Wisconsin 14
#1 Alabama at #9 Tennessee, Saturday Oct 15, 3:30 PM
This is a big game for Tennessee, who is now a 1 loss team after losing to Texas A&M last week. If they want to go to the college football playoffs, they need this win to go. Alabama is, as usual, a force to be reckoned with, and I truly don’t think that Tennessee has the firepower to beat them. Alabama is battle tested and ready to assert their dominance and power in the nation. I think Bama takes this one easy.
Prediction: Alabama 38, Tennessee 17
North Carolina at #16 Miami, Saturday Oct 15, 3:30 PM
This will be a very good, exciting, and close game. Miami is coming off a 20-19 loss to Florida State, which is a team that North Carolina beat 37-35 just the week before. Neither of these teams seem to have been truly tested, but this game will show which team is truly a contender. North Carolina will be difficult to stop, but the crowd in Florida will rattle them. I say Miami with the win in front of their home crowd but by a slim margin.
Prediction: Miami 24, North Carolina 21
#12 Ole Miss at #22 Arkansas, Saturday Oct 15, 7 PM
This game should be relatively good to watch. Arkansas is coming off a bad showing against top ranked Alabama, but the Rebel defense isn’t looking very good lately, giving up 449 yards per game. The Razorbacks will come out looking to bounce back from their loss against Alabama, and I believe they get it done.
Prediction: Arkansas 35, Ole Miss 31
