1) What is your go to / favorite pre-game meal?

“I’m not super particular about pre-game food, but I’d probably say a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.”

2)  What, or who, is your key motivation when playing?

“My teammates are my key motivation because I want to do as well as I can to help them be successful too. All of us put a lot of time and effort into getting better, so I’ll do anything it takes to get the team the win. As a leader, it’s important to set a positive example, so it’s always in the back of my mind to be someone that my teammates can look up to.”

3) Is basketball your favorite sport to play or do you have another?

“Usually, my favorite sport directly correlates with whatever season I’m in, but I think basketball has risen to the top of the list during the past few years. “

4) What made you want to play basketball?

“I call the gym my second home because I partially grew up there. With my dad coaching the boys team for my whole life, I was always at his practices, so I learned to really enjoy being around the sport. Seeing as many successful athletes and teams as I did, I made it my goal to try to have as much fun with basketball.”

5) Is basketball something you want to pursue after high school?

“Yes, I want to play basketball in college. I’m not exactly sure where yet, but I’m confident that I will find my right fit, and I’m excited to continue playing the game that I love.”

6)Is there anything special that you do before each game?:

“I’m a very superstitious person, so I have a few weird routines. I like to arrive at almost the same time before each game. Then, after I listen to music for a little bit, I do some simple shooting warmup drills. I have to make a certain number of shots from each spot before I can move on. One of my favorite things to do is my special handshake with each of my teammates.”

7) What was your motivation or who made you want to start playing your sport?:

“My family has always encouraged me to do what I enjoy, and basketball is definitely that. Almost all of my family played basketball or was around it a lot, so I think that influenced my passion for the sport. I’ve used a few of my mom and aunt’s records as motivation when I feel my focus slipping. I wouldn’t be the player I am without the support of my parents- they are constantly in the gym with me, watching film, or trying to help me improve.”
