Poland Wrestling
Winter sports have finally arrived, and the wrestling boys are prepared to dominate this season. The new head coach is excited for what the season brings.
“I am now the face of the Poland Wrestling and have more ownership of the team. We have a bright future with the raw new talent we have this year,” Coach said.
The coaches main goal is to keep the young athletes determined and committed.
¨I plan to keep it enjoyable to the kids. We have been to state for the past 5 years, and I’m trying to keep it going with hopes that people see that Poland Wrestling program isn’t something to be taken lightly and keep raising awareness,” coach said.
This years senior wrestlers are Tony Murcko and Dante Peretti. They have become leaders to the underclassmen and continue to be a positive examples for everyone.
“I want to be the best as possible for my team. The underclassmen just need to keep drilling and mix it up a lot. I want to spread my knowledge, so they continue to progress. Just because we don’t have the numbers doesn’t mean we don’t have the strength,¨ senior Tony Murcko said.
Peretti uses this quote to keep himself and his teammates motivated: “ You don’t want what I’m selling, if we band together as a unit, one big family we could be unstoppable.”
The next wrestling tournament is this Saturday at Ashland and next Wednesday at home. Come out and support the dogs.
