Poland girls lacrosse season starting 2023
Poland Seminary High School Girl’s Lacrosse season officially starts for 2023. In preparation for the season, the players had a lacrosse camp in October at Poland Seminary High School. The team also has its first scrimmage on March 15, 2023 against their rival Canfield where students were are all rooting for the Bulldogs to take home the win and start the season on a positive note.
The girls are now prepared for the season to start. Their first game was postponed against Chardon and will be rescheduled to a later date.
In the past years. the girls lacrosse team has always had a huge amount of players on junior varsity and varsity; however, this year with the new coach, the team has turned into just a varsity sport.
Some players elaborated on how they felt about this upcoming season.
“I feel like this season most teams will not be expecting much from us, but we will come out super strong; I honestly feel like since girls lacrosse is still relatively new other teams will not know what to expect, and since we have less players this year with just a varsity team we got to build a better connection with each other then in previous years,” said Senior Morgan Bailey.
Another player reflected on playing their rival: Canfield.
“I feel like we have a better chance of winning this year than in years prior; the team is very close, and we have been doing so much work to get in shape for this season even if that’s practicing outside of actual practice. Although they have had their lacrosse program longer the other girls, and I really do think that we will bring home that win this year,” said senior, Ava Gallo
Overall, the team is prepared and plan to have an amazing season!
