On Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, PSHS Juniors are given the opportunity to take an official, online ACT provided by the school. The guidance administration at PSHS administers this test to all juniors taking it and has spoken about the test itself.
This test is an online version of a traditional ACT, with the content being the same per each version. Guidance Counselor Mr. J. Morocco claims that the “long, grueling test” takes about four hours and impacts what colleges students taking the test can go to and scholarships they can get.
He explained that “students can be relaxed and prepared on the day of the test” to best suit their testing environment.
Though the ACT is not a requirement for high school graduation, students are encouraged to take it as many times as they feel comfortable with, with “no downside to taking [the ACT] repeatedly,” says Morocco.
While juniors take this exam, all other high school students have a virtual learning day, except for junior high students, who do have to be at school on this day.
