Poland Seminary High School’s Girls Soccer Team has successfully beat Brookshire High School, resulting in becoming District Champions for the 2nd year in a row as well as 2026 seniors 3rd time winning throughout their high school career. Tuesday night, the girls traveled to Ashland, Ohio and played against Columbus Academy.
Before the big game, we met up with a captain on the team, Kennedy Henderson discussing her season leading up to districts and regionals.
Henderson expressed how she hoped to have her team play the best they could and make it past the regional game to make it to the state finals.
When asked what a practice typically looks like for an important game, Kennedy Henderson stated, “A lot of stretching, some running with technical drills to help us shift into what we have to play the day of the game.”
For such a high pressure game, Henderson reveals that she listens to lots of music, tries to not overwork her body on her days off, and eats a healthy meal to enhance her skills.
On an overall outlook of the season, we question Henderson with what was the team’s biggest accomplishment of the 2025 season, “Winning against Canfield 4-0 that we haven’t in 4 years and being districts champions.”
Tying into that, we asked Kennedy what her favorite personal memory of the season was to which she replied, “Winning the district title.”
Following up after Tuesday night’s game, the Lady Bulldogs Soccer Team concluded their year at regionals after a long and hard season. Congratulations to the 2025 girls soccer team!
