The boys’ soccer season has officially come to an end after a great season. The boys went 14-2-4 only losing to Canfield and to Mooney in the playoffs in the district final. The dogs lost a heartbreaker, losing their last game to Mooney 2-1.
We had the pleasure of speaking to star player Senior Skevos Tsikouris. Skevos was a tremendous part of why the Bulldogs went so far.
Starting with his leadership, he has been playing since his sophomore year, so he has had experience playing in playoff games, but also winning the NE8 conference. He was also a team captain.
Secondly, his hard work ethic, Skevos is the first one on the field and the last person off the field, along with his brother.
That is why this team was so good because having leaders like that leading the team made the team overall better.
We also got to talk to his brother Andreas Tsikouris earlier in the season, and he had very high expectations for this team, and they exceeded most of those expectations, besides obviously winning state was a big one.
Skevos was asked, “What was the most challenging part of getting to where you guys went?”
Skevos said, “ We were a young team, so gaining experience was tough at times, but overall I was proud of how the young guys responded when it mattered.”
Skevos has talked so highly of the future of the Bulldogs after him and his brother left their legacies behind as the Bulldogs try and go further in the playoffs in the upcoming years.
